After having read about the good deals that people were getting below the
border, I recently inquired about the Mobile Tradition CD-Rom my local
dealer up here in Canada. I stood there with my mouth hanging open when
I was quoted a price of $130 Cdn (~ $84 US). For most software, we get
prices that are usually very competitive with US mail order houses. It
prompted me to write a somewhat nasty note to BMW Canada.

On a similar note, I was looking into getting new rotors for my 323i and
was quoted a price of $435 Cdn for four at a local auto parts place. No
cross drilling or gas slotting. I can get the same thing from Bav Auto or
BMP for about $235 Cdn plus shipping and minimal duty.

It seems that the only parts worth buying for my BMW's up here are small
things such as o-rings and attaching hardware.

Sorry about the WOB, but I felt the need to vent to a wider audience.
