<E30> Central Locking

You are correct that the '84 and '85 E30s didn't have the double
locking feature.  Regarding your problem...maybe someone else has had
some experience with non-functioning central locking...

You can fit wider tires on the stock rim.  Don't go too big or you'll
have major fitment problems.  Be sure that as you increase the tire
section width, you decrease the aspect ratio -- the goal is to stay as
close to the outside diameter of a 195/60-14 as possible.
