I have a 97 M3 coupe and I noticed a strange burning type smell coming from under the hood. It
happened about 3 or 4 times this spring and has been ok since. I took my car to the BMW dealer
and was told there was nothing wrong. I think there would have to be flames shooting out from
under the hood before my dealer would do anything. The burning smell was very strong after I
shut the car off and I could smell it for the rest of the day in the garage.Don't have any idea
what it was but am glad it is not happening anymore.
