If you've recently used a lubricating spray such as WD-40 on an
electrical part in the engine (or anywhere else) and if some arcing
(sparks) ignite the lubricant, the plastic casing may catch and burn. I
know, I did and learned the hard way. If this is the case, try to get
rid of the lubricant as soon as you can. Some commercial cleaning agents
are available but make sure that they don't leave any residue.
Eventually it will burn itself off but depending on where it is, it can
be dangerous.
