RE: e28 window gaskets

I have installed one on my front passenger side which was leaking.

Theses are available through most BMW parts places, but dont expect a
huge discount, all parts are OEM.   The gaskets themselves are petty
easy to put on yourself.  The cotter pin that holds in the door limiting
bracket must be removed.  Pull out the old gasket, noting where the
edges of the gasket seat into the rail,  this is readily apparent.
The new gasket will only fit in one way and it is easiest to begin on
the inside railing of the door and work your way around.  The whole job
takes about 20 minutes.  Use liquid soap on the new gasket to make it
slide into the rail easier.
