How many miles on your E36? what kind of driving do you do on what kind of
roads?

Realize that it'll cost at least $300-$400 in labor to get those parts in
and get the car re-aligned, depending on your/friends' DIY capabilities.

If you're just doing general driving, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.  If
you're getting into more performance driving (auto-x, driver's schools,
maybe even back roads) consider waiting and getting E36M take off
components, which can be found for about $400-450, or aftermarket, which
will run about $1000 installed.  The aftermarket stuff may seem a little
pricey, but it will let you make the car a lot tighter than the factory
equipment will allow.

Also consider realistically how long you plan on keeping the car, since that
may help you rationalize spending more, since you'll be investing in
something you're going to keep rather than spending a lot on aftermarket
work that won't command enough of a premium to cover your costs when you
resell.
