E36 questions

     Chip,

Absolutely agree with you 100% on improving the driver first before
putting anything major in your car. But as far as putting on R
compound tires, I may have some reservation. If someone is new to
the driving school, he/she may be better off stick to street tires
first. After they used to the way the car handle in track condition
then they may consider upgrading to R tires. Just my own senses.
As far as brake goes, I've installed the ATE power disks recently
(warpped mine at Jefferson) and tested them at the Lime Rock. I think
it just marginally better than stock. But again it only cost slightly
more than stock rotors. I believe brake pads would be more of a
factor in braking performance. BTW, what Pagid pads are you using?
The street/sport or full race compound? Is $200 a set just for the
front only? (Where did you get them from?) And finally, do you know
how Pagid compares to Cool Willies from Turner. Seems like quite a
lot of students on the track are using the Cool Willies and I'm
thinking of getting one for myself too.

     Regards,
