[bmw] E36 Radio- CD Problem

Need some help with a radio issue. I have a 97 328iC with a CD player
installed as part of a CPO ad on. The CD sometimes shuts down and acts as if
it is overheating but today I also noticed the entire radio shutting off.
Funny thing is that I see the security light going on (blinking red light on
the radio) when this happens. I am beginning to suspect that there is a poor
power connection or poor connection else where associated with the radio and
CD. I am planning to buy one of the 5 side radio tool replacement wrenches
to remove the radio (I have the code) and see if I can find a poor
connection and also to put di-electric grease as my first plan of attach.
Any suggestions welcomed.
