As far as handling is concerned, I heard that the BMW is better since it is
a RWD car converted to AWD so the transmission in in under the car and the
transfer case is set to split the torque like 62% at the rear wheels and
38% at the front.
The Audi is a FWD car converted to AWD. the transmission and diff are over
the front axle and the torque distribution of the transfer case is 50-50%.
The Bimmer feels more like a RWD car and the Audi like a FWD.

I never drove these cars, but this is what I read from different magazines.
I'm also in the market to buy a X Bimmer to replace my 4 Runner. I didn't
decided yet if it will be a used 325xi Touring or a used 3.0 X5 or a
location on a new X3...

Guys,
    I'm looking at a possible puchase of a 2002 330xi with a 5spd.  It
looks
to be a very clean car, only 13K and is coming with a BMW certified used
car
warrenty, etc.

I'd appreciate any feed back on your experiences good/bad with this or
similar vehicles.  The only comparable car I see in my area is a 2002 A4
with a 6spd; both seem very solid, with the Audi having a bit more room in
the back seat, and it could be had for about 2-3K less (32K for the 330xi,
maybe 29K for the A4).
