I also had the same problem on my 91 318ic while changing brake fluid for
the first time last year.
On my car, 3 out of 4 were not flowing any fluid, even with pedal pressure
and the bleeder opened.
They were pluged with ... well I don't know what.  To solve the problem, I
opened the bleeder, and poke into the bleeder with a stiff but small steel
wire, then flow and dirt began to flow I they came to normal.

What is interresting, is that the car was braking very well before, so I
guess it was only the bleeder itself that was plugged.

Ric,
I have had that happen on an E12.  The caliper was so dirty that the bleed
hole in the caliper itself was clogged.
