[alfa] Spider Clutch slaves

Strange others should have the same problem I did.... Anyhow, my clutch pedal
became increasingly useless in disengaging the clutch, until it disengaged no
more. I went about replacing the slave and flexible hose. When taking the old
slave off, the dust boot holding the lever was full of dark brake fluid (the
slave had indeed given up), and came out without too too much of a problem. I
fitted the new slave alright, but finally got tired of fiddling with the one
snap-ring that goes on the bleed end of the slave. Does anybody else leave this
off without much in the way of problems? There appears to be some interference
between the ring and some flange or so, no matter the position of the ring when
trying to refit in-situ. If having that second snap-ring is a "must-have," I'll
give it another go--otherwise....
