12 ma is about right for a clock or an alarm system. This draw will not kill
your battery. You can try to disconnect the battery and see if the battery
still drains down. Six years is about all a battery is good for. Check your
voltage at the battery while the car is running. The voltage at the battery
should be around 13 volts. No more than 15 volts.

How long does the car sit before it will not start?

Most likely you have a bad battery.
