Re: [alfa] Re: Victory By Design

Two things:

1- Our Brit cousins are, frankly, deranged (in a good way). When I thumb through, say, Octane or AutoItalia (or whichever other magazine of theirs features an Alfa that month) I am astonished at not only the restorations, but at what the starting point of these restorations were. Often something rises out of, if not the proverbial phoenix ashes, then 23 crates of iron oxide filings and a VIN plate.

2- At least as far as the cars featured on the Alfa Romeo DVD, I know that a lot of the ones in private hands *do* get driven with regularity. For example, the Monza as driven by its owner (Peter Giddings) is inescapable when you thumb through Forza or Vintage Motorsports. Also, I must give kudos to the Museo Storico for lending a gazillion of their cars to this project.
