[alfa] Spider front fender body work

It has been a few years since I have worked on or even looked at the '77
Spider sitting in my garage. It needs some engine work so I am considering
buying another '77 Spider in much better shape although the left front fender
is creased where the driver's door was bent forward by a garage door with a
pretty good-sized vertical dent in the fender from the front edge of the door.
The upright where the door hinges attached appears to be out of alignment as
well.

I'm wondering whether it is possible to easily get behind the fender from
inside the wheel well and work out the damage. Right now it is too cold to go
into my garage and see if that can be done without too much trouble Anyone out
there who is able to shed some light on this issue or will I have to wait
until the BIG THAW to find out? How about taking off the fender? Possible
without major body work? Been so long since I looked at the car that I can't
even remember how easy that is to do.

Would be nice to have this info before I make a decision whether to buy the
other car or not.

Many thanks. Ralph
