I think you need a speedometer input instead of a tach input. I don't think
there is any reason for a NAV system to need to know the engine speed, but
it does need to know the road speed of the vehicle.

You'll have to find the speedo sensor which will be on the transaxle
somewhere, and figure out which wires to tap into.

I plan to buy a Becker Navigation radio. Did anybody install such a device
in a 164 Super?
Where can I find the tach signal cable? (I assume that the system needs this
signal).
