Re: [alfa] source for 164 fuel pump rubber parts

Try Alfa Heaven www.alfaheaven.com, also Karl Robrock (on the digest) is
parting out a 164, or Di Fatta Bros in Baltimore. They have several 164
parts cars. These are all used sources, you might try Bruce's and
Centerline. I've purchased the pump from these folks but not the
surrounding mount. You might also research whether the pump was used on
another car (Saab or BMW) at the time.

Having R/R this item many times, I don't remember seeing an asphalt like
material. As I recall the pump support is a white plastic substance. The
only (black?) asphalt substance is the vibration damper pad that attaches to
the bottom of the pump assembly.

How did you determine that the pump was dead? I replaced and threw away a
perfectly good pump when the problem was the infamous one-inch line in the
pump's plumbing.

Don
PS. Make sure you replace the one-inch line connecting the pump to the
outlet fitting on the cover.
