Basically, you got it, Karl.  That's the story.  The only way I know of to 
get the old style tail light (new condition) with the white reverse lamp 
section is to call around and probe people's stock.  Suggest you contact 
Michelle at Spruell, Lee Scovanner at European Auto Specialists in 
Cincinnati, maybe AlfaBill, and some of the others on AlfaCentro's parts 
resources page.

We have a nice yellow CE with one tail light of each style!  Gotta correct 
that...
