[alfa] ignition switch

I have a question for all of you. My 88 alfa graduate has an intermittent
starting problem. It has done this for some time but is getting worse all of
the time. When you turn the key the starter turns over but it does not fire
the spark plugs. I can usually predict by the way it reacts when I turn the
key if it will start. My question is this, could this be a bad switch? The
reason I think it may be the switch is that it will not start and then you can
turn it off and wait a few minutes and it will start right up. Every thing
seems fine plenty of battery power, fuel and air. I am stumped and I don't
want to buy a new switch if I don't have to.
