Re: [alfa] RE: Nakamichi
It's not about age... I'm nineteen and I can't stand 95% of new car
audio stuff (that goes for speakers, too). Not all of us California
teenagers bling out their cars with the latest chromed carbon fiber
crap. My favorite: I was at Best Buy recently and saw the "2Fast
2Furious" subwoofer kit... My girlfriend suggested I put it in the
Intestine. I think they should put it in the trash. (wasn't even good
components below the neon... if memory serves me correctly, it was MTX
stuff). I'm just upset I'll never get a Nak in the Alfa... but even
Phil (of Phil's foreign car, to whom I give only the most glowing of
endorsements) was amazed to see an original sound system with alfa
logos on both door speakers and the tape deck, so I ain't touching it.
Maybe in the Jag XJ "winter beater" when I get around to having money
again.

I'll third the endorsement...
But I have heard that the CD35/40/45 have all been discontinued. Last
year
we bought a CD-35z for our E30 BMW 325 commuter. I have yet to
experiment
with the Verde, but the lighting of the Nak is a spot-on match for the
red/amber lighting in the BMW cockpit. The best feature is its
ergonomics:
a clean, simple layout with no starship Enterprise jukebox display (am
I
getting old or what?)
