[alfa] Still need Fuel Gauge Help!!!
Michael,
My advice would be to find a classy Alfa Romeo sticker/decal (perhaps a nice
Quadrifoglio?) and place it over the offending gauge. Then do some mileage
checks using your tripmeter (Fill up the tank, reset the tripmeter, drive 100-200
miles, fill up the tank again, note how many gallons have been used). I tend
to average between 21-24mpg with mixed city/freeway driving. In my GTV6 I
usually go around 250 miles before filling up, about 200 miles for my Berlinas. My
experience with Alfas has been that the odometer/tripmeter is more accurate
than the fuel gauge. So cover up the fuel gauge, use your tripmeter, drive your
Alfa hard, and enjoy the ensuing happiness.
