Hi Damian,
	Is your Berlina equipped with a SPICA fuel injection system or dual 
Webers? If you have got a SPICA system, I'm under the impression that 
running out of gas is a really bad thing to do. The SPICA pump has four 
pistons which pump the fuel into the engine. The tolerances to which 
these pistons are built are, so I'm informed, are extremely fine, and 
the fuel which they pump also acts as a lubricant. No gas, no 
lubricant, bad news. Having said that, I don't mean to be a downer 
(maybe something else quite innocuous is wrong), and I myself have no 
first hand expirence with the SPICA system (my 1600 has Webers). So 
it's more than possible I'm wrong, but when has being wrong ever 
stopped someone from posting on a list?
