daily drivers' reliability

In #709 Andrew Watry mistakenly makes the following points:

"Re Tom and Biba's exchange about daily drivers, I'm with Tom:"

(First mistake)

"I have used a Giulia sedan, with 1600 or 1750, as a daily driver off
and on for 25 years."

(No doubt whilst wearing a hair shirt).

"When I wasn't driving a Giulia I was usually driving a Berlina."

(See Alfetta GT owner's unite post).

"Reliability and power have never been an issue"

(Need I even say it?)

"and the majority of these cars had generators."

(No doubt made by Honda to power the lights when you were beside the
road fixing your dynamo)

"In fact, my wife's Ultimate Spending Machine is off the road more than
my Alfas."

[Because you're using it as your back-up car whilst the Berlina (or
whatever) is in the repair shop?]

"Granted, it's got 225,000 miles on it..."

(Just as I suspected)

"and much more complex systems."

(Duuuh)

"But the long and short of it is I've almost never been left stranded by
an Alfa."

(So how can you explain the 225,000 miles you ran up on your wife's much
more complex car?)

this?)
