RE: 164 coolant drop

Thanks for the thoughts. The reservoir and radiator are relatively new, so
no external leaks there or anywhere. The internal leak isn't bad enough to
cause noticeable exhaust steaming - if it got to that bad, I'd already have
parked it.

Sounds like a re-torque on the heads is the best bet for a possible
quick-fix right now. I've had two folks tell me off-line they had success
with that approach. But before I do that, has anyone ever had a problem
with a coolant leak at the throttle body? I'm just wondering if it's even
worth the minor trouble of eliminating that as the possible source.

i've seen coolant drop from invisable leaks from cracks
in the reservoir and the radiator, but the best evidence
for head gaskets is to follow the car in question and watch
for lots of white steamy exhaust during serious acceleration.
