Re: alfa-digest V9 #684

I agree with Mark. I bought a hard dash cap for my GTV-6 and was simply not able to get it to fit (finally sold it at a swap-meet). I bought the carpet style from IAP and it works very well. It has one very nice feature that even the original GTV-6 dash lacked - it is totally non-reflective. The flat carpet-like nap is very dull and one simply does not see it in the sharply raked GTV-6 windshield. Even if my dash weren't badly cracked, I'd still utilize one of these carpeted dash covers for it's anti-reflective as well as it's dash protective qualities. I highly recommend it.

amici,

what's the verdict on dash caps? i've got a 1974 GTV. i've read that the
caps get in the way of the air vents unless you do some filing, in which
case you end up with what looks like a patch-up job. i want a
professional-looking finish without the $800 (!) cost of a replacement. (i
know, i know, don't we all.) any other alternatives out there? is there a
secret to installing the cap so that it looks like a jewel?

thanks.

One alternative would be a nice dash cover. I've posted this before, only
because I was so pleased with the one they sold me for my GTV6. Fits all the
dips and curves perfectly. Call 1-800-thedash. I love the carpet style I ordered
but they also sell a velour style. Attaches with small velcro squares.
