did george mention it? i know i did. the Encyclopedia mentions a
"structural defect in the rear fuselage", but doesn't indicate what it
actually was -- did the tails fall off, or did something cause the controls
in the rear to stop working properly? the book is silent on that point.

the Encyclopedia indicates that approx. 13 Sagittarios were seized by the
Germans, but does not discuss their fate after that.

i'd question the trivia simply on the basis that by the end of the war, the
Axis air forces were largely grounded due to lack of fuel. german aircraft
production never let up, but it was kind of hard to actually fly anywhere
with no av gas.

the connection to alfas is getting thin now. however, the topic is of
considerable interest to me, and a good thing to take to
offtopic@domain.elided
