Re: spider tires

I had 185/65/14 HR pirelli P6 sumer tires as previous set on a 71 spider,
didn't need first gear, car bottomed out and had all sorts of handling
issues. they stuck to the road though. Current set, i managed to find
Bridgestone Potenza's in 185/70 14 HR. They don't quite stick to the road as
well as the P6s BUT the car handles perfecty, does not bottom out over
bumps, no body complaints, good road clearance, don't need engine skid grate
anymore etc. The larger tires give more of a period look to the car. advice
is to stick with the 185/70 14 HR despite problems in finding the correct
tire size.
