Re: NYC Alfa shops + inspection question

Eugene,

Don't know about the alfa shop in Brooklyn, but I have been very pleased with Guieseppe LeRoe at Alfa Import Center ( www.alfaimportcenter.com ) in Maspeth Queens which is on the border of Brooklyn and Queens so maybe the same shop. Relatively easy to get to from NYC and very friendly and fair.

I have brought my Alfa to a local gas station here in Astoria, Queens and at the time the car passed no prob. Whether he did what he was supposed to really do I dont know. I do know that the car wasn't running right at the time too lean and lumpy idle so that may have helped (in this case) Normaly I wouldnt just drop it off at anyone, talk to a few people who have cars serviced regularly and where they get them done.

If you need any more info contact me of digest.

Good luck,
Antonio

Subject: NYC Alfa shops + inspection question

Hi all,

A few years back I asked about Alfa shops in the NYC area, and got a few recommendations for one in Brooklyn. My notes and receipts are all boxed up at this point, and several Alfa shops show up in the yellow pages, so again any recommendations would be appreciated.

On a related note, do most people bring their Alfas for emissions inspections to just any mechanic? I distinctly remember my '84 Spider being carefully adjusted prior to emissions. I am now having to inspect a '91 Spider, shouldn't the later Spiders be able to pass emissions without a hitch?

Just doing a sanity check...

Thanks in advance,
Eugene
