Re: Transmission question (newbie, please be gentle)
Whew! Sounds to me like you have found the clutch release fork (the
horizontal plate) and the clutch slave cylinder (the rubber bulb).
Now to determine what is leaking. If your fluid level in the clutch master
cylinder is going down, it is the clutch slave that is leaking. It can either
be replaced as a unit or resealed with new parts. (You probably need to find
a mechanic).
If the clutch fluid level is constant, it is either engine or transmission oil
and now you definately need to find that mechanic!

Subject: Transmission question (newbie, please be gentle)
Placed high on the passenger side of the transmission housing, near the
engine is a slot (roughly 1.5 inches tall and 3 inches long). Out of the
slot is a plate, horizontal and perpendicular to the drive shaft. This
plate is connected to a rubber bulb that is filled or saturated with Fluid
(brake, transmission, clutch?). When the motor is running, the fluid is
sprayed lightly from this bulb to the ground. What is this part and how
should I go about fixing it, if at all?
Humbly,
