Re: Newbie questions...
2) I have found that unless you position the jack stands under the front ball
joints, the spring will force the upper control arm against the bump stop and
hide all slop in the front ball joints, upper control arm and caster rod.
Speaking of caster rods, the bushing at the aft end where it connects to the
upper control arm is notorious for failing and causing suspension clunks in
the front end.
To jack it up; place a block of wood on your jack and raise the entire
rear end at one time by jacking under the differential. On the front end,
place a 2X4 across the cross member behind the engine and jack the entire
front end from there.
4) If you are planning on installing a roll bar for other than street use, be
sure to check the requirements for your local sanctioning organization. Track
roll bars require more and different bracing than street bars. They must also
be higher to provide more head clearance. As a rule, if the top goes up over
it on an Alfa, it ain't legal.

Subject: Newbie questions...
2) There seems to be a clunk and loose suspension. I plan on getting it
up on jackstands at some point and checking it out, but any hints (such
as where to jack it so i can put the stands on) would be much
appreciated. (I can't wait until I can afford the bible and the shop
man.)
4) Roll bars and seatbelts - does anybody have pix of the bar from IAP
installed in a Spider? and has anybody successfully installed Schroth
Rallye 3s in one of these cars? Any suggestions/comments?
