Re: 94 164LS Vacuum Problem Maybe....
Well let's see..
The codes were cleared after the hose was fixed.
1223 came back. New o2 sensor cured it.
Had the voltage to the sensor checked before the new sensor and it was OK.
Car ran OK after the new injectors and runners.
Still a little rough at idle but it's been doing that since I got the car.
Strange though... sometimes it'll run smooth as silk.
Haven't checked the AFM myself.
Mechanic was worried about the vac pressure but going to check his 164.
No clue why it wouldn't be in spec.
Something must be leaking but we can't find it.
He has 4 24 valve cars on his client list 2 run very smooth at idle.
2 (mine on this list) a little lumpy.
Number 2 has had everything done including new heads!
Has to be something stupidly simple causing it.
Brakes are working now at least.
After the new runners the car definitely was alot peppier!
Ahhh... the trials of having something unusual.

You have my empathy. But your description raises several questions not to
mention the cost of all the tear downs. An O2 sensor (as a rule) does not
wear out in four months unless the conditions in which it is operating is
way wrong - mixture, wiring, fuel type. The 1223 code can also point to the
air flow meter. Did you try clearing the codes after vacumn hose was fixed.
Did the car every run correctly after the new runners and injectors were
replaced? It's not clear from your message whether the brake boost is now
operating correctly. If you have to check the cam timing, make marks on
visible part of the cam gear so that you can check timing without pulling
the covers.
