I'm gonna throw out a pretty impractical suggestion, but knowing me, it'd be the one I'd end up with.

A Citroen 2CV Truckette.  

Funky, different, would get the same kind of attention an Alfa would (or more), good mileage, and best of all, at the end of the day would make your Alfas feel ten times faster in comparison.
