Without wanting to be rude ... did you remember to put the O-rings in the head gasket?
I ask because I once replaced a head gasket, put the head back on, torqued it down, re-attached manifolds etc, then realised I'd left the o-rings out. I wasn't a happy camper.
In any case, I wouldn't be running a freshly rebuilt engine for 45 minutes when I knew water was getting in the oil. Sure, *maybe* it would cure itself, but if it doesn't, what are the chances your bearings will still be good?
