Synthetic Oils

>>Just an observation from this thread leads me to the following. It
appears
those who have had leaks after using dino was in a motorcycle application
(2
cycle?) and no leaks noticed in the auto engines (4 cycle).<<

Most motorcycles these days are 4 stroke. 4 stroke motorcycle engines tend
to rev higher than 2 stroke motorcycle engines (Honda CBR250 red lines at
19500rpm for example, and that is a 4 cylinder 16 valve 250cc engine).

However, most motorcycles also use a wet clutch, and very few motorcycle
makers receommend synthetic oil partly for this reason.

There is also the possibility that motorcycles use engine with the gearbox
using the same oil. The gears tend to cut the long chain molecules used
in oil (which is one reason motorcyckes have shorter oil change intervals)
I suppose it is possible that synthetic oils are more prone to reduction
in service life from this effect, but I would not bet on it

All the best
