Alarm Problem in 96'GTV

Hi

I have had a quick look through the workshop manual for the
alarm for the GTV.

To get it to accept a new key you do need the 4 digit code. It
doesnt mention whether the code is stored anywhere else
(such as Alfa GB or in Italy), but originally it would have been
on a small tag attached to one of the keys. It is a 4 digit code
with a point between each digit

It is described as:-

"Alfa Romeo code system function: inside the key
grip there is a transponder which contains a code that
is transmitted to the Alfa Romeo code control unit
for releasing the injection control unit"

That tends to suggest there is a single code for both
the alarm and the immobilisor

Given that they claim both key fobs died at the same
time, and managed to blow the engine up they do not
sound like a particularly helpful dealership
