Spider Roll Bars

       Be careful with roll bars build by roundy pounder shops.  The ones in 
Oklahoma tend to use ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) tubing instead of the 
stronger DOM (Drawn Over Mandrel) tubing.  ERW has a seam that is quite 
obvious if you feel the inside of the tubing.  Many circle track shops do 
nice work, but make sure they are using the tubing you want.
       SCCA used to allow ERW tubing if the size was one dimension larger 
than the size specified for DOM.  However, the use is ERW is no longer 
allowed for new cars registered after 1/1/2003.
