Richard and others, regarding battery venting, Alfa did the RIGHT thing 
in the 164 by outting the battery in the trunk AND venting it down and 
out of th car,  Mine is clean as a whistle, no sign of any corrosion 
anywhere.  The battery lasted for eight years in my first 164 and tgis 
one is still going, don;t know age.  Fred
