Hello Mark,

May I be the first to commend you on you offer of space, bandwidth and
inspiration for creating the Alfa Wiki.

As with life, it's what we put in to it that makes it valuable.  If no
one contributes, then no one benefits.  I have been a member of
"machine-related" lists on the internet since 1991 and I continue to be
amazed at the goodwill, help, and trust that can be found in this
amorphous thing that is "the net".  I've made life long friends from all
around the world and shared their homes and even their cars and
motorcycles.

I must digress for a moment though, for if you think finding Alfa
information is hard, consider the plight of the BMW CS owner.  There are
perhaps three or four CS websites in the WORLD, and really only one or
two here in the US.  I've restored a lot of machines, but nowhere have I
experienced the dearth of information that I found on the E9 BMW Coupes.
When, after years of longing, Chela and I found Shakespeare and became
Alfa owners, I experienced firsthand the amount of information and
material available in both printed and pixel format, I was astounded. 

In only three short months I've made some good friends and been
fortunate to have some good conversations with Alfisti around the world.
I too hope to be able to give something back to the community through
the restoration project currently underway.

I look forward to participating in the Alfa Wiki.

PS-if you don't believe me about the lack of good CS content out there,
go ahead and type BMW CS or CSI in Google and see what you get.  It
ain't much.
