1991 Spider starting

MAKE SURE THE CAR IS IN NETURAL BEFORE DO THIS. IF THE CAR HAS AN AUTOMATIC
TRANSMISSION LIKE MY 91 SPIDER PUT IT IN PARK.

At the starter, take a jumper wire and connect it to the large cable coming
from the battery and touch the other end to the wire on the solenoid. if the
starter and solenoid are good the starter will turn over. If the starter turns
over, turn the key on and start the car.

This happen on my 91 spider while still under warranty and every time I
started it this way and took it to the dealer they could not fine anything
wrong. The last time it did this the dealer sent a flat bed wrecker to pick it
up. They found the problem it was the neutral switch on the automatic
transmission. There is one switch that controls the neutral start and the
back-up lights. They replaced it and no problems since, that's been about
195,000 miles ago.
