RE: engine studs

Well TJ I'm a long way from an Alfa engine specialist but here's my two
cents. I once buggered the threads on some head studs in a 2L and it was
conceded to me by some expert Alfa mechanics that they 'might' be able to
replace them without trashing the block. IN other words, it ain't a common
thing to do and certainly not necessary. Getting steel studs out of an
aluminum block after twenty years of 'galvanic corrosion' (or whatever it
is called that makes steel and AL bond) is likely to be difficult. I
wouldn'y worry about stretching the studs - as I said I'm no expert but in
ten years of 'digesting' I've never heard of it.
