Subject: Switched electric power on '72 Spider for Radio

"My car currently doesn't have a radio installed" "My issue is power. I would
ideally like to have both constant and
switched power going to the radio" "is it OK to run a wire from the ignition
switch
directly to my radio to provide switched positive? Or will that do
something wierd (like draw power from the ignition coil, starter,
etc. which are connected to the ignition switch)."
"For the constant power - I was planning on running a lead directly
from one of the fuses (which are inside the cabin). Any one in
particular recommended (e.g. the heater fan / or other ...)?"
Regards,
Jonathan

Unless you use a radio with a super amplifier attached, it will probably draw
mili-amps and not effect any circuit you tie into, BUT:
1. Install an inline fuse to preclude shorting out whatever circuit you
attach to.
2. Since you only have one power wire going into the radio, and you are
planning to attach it to two power sources, you will probably have troubles
with one circuit feeding the other unless you install isolation switches
and/or diodes. One SPDT switch can be wired to do the job.
