Speaking of electrical draw, I just replaced a 3-month old failed battery in
my other car and my miles per gallon jumped up by almost 2 mpg.  The battery
was drawing current all the time, making the alternator work harder and
dragging down mileage.  Also, if you ran any accessories with the engine
off, the battery voltage would drop to 9 volts and the car wouldn't start.
