164 gas in air filter - no power brake

My son was stranded about 100 miles from home when he could not get th 91 164 started at a rest stop. Later found gas coming back through the plenum and AFM and draining out of the air cleaner box intake. Fortunately, I guessed the pressure regulator and had a new one on hand. Installed and the car seemed ok after blowing out accuulated gas.

After about an hour driving home, the power brake boost went out and you could hear a hissing sound when the brake was applied.

Is it possible that some of the gas was sucked into the boost unit and is somehow now allowing access to the engine vacume?

Any one with similar experience. Can I suction out gas from the boost unit without opening the hydraulic system?

Thanks,

Don
PS. For those who remember an earlier post about hard starting for this car - the fuel pressure regulator was the problem.
