No that is not normal. If functioning correctly it should start on the
first crank, every time. Buy a shop manual and follow the FI trouble
shooting steps. The problem is likely not difficult to solve.

It ussually takes me two pauses between cranks to get it to fire. Is this
normal? The car otherwise runs perfect.
