Spider Timing Chain Retensioning

A while back I remember reading (and Ben Higgins told me) about a
procedure for retensioning the timing chain on a spider (I have a 74
spider).

I think it went something like (with the engine off) loosen one of the
bolts holding the timing chain pulley about a quarter turn and then with
the car in gear (5th maybe?) push it forward until something happens. As
you can tell I can't remember the details.

Can anyone provide me a pointer to the procedure? I need to do this real
soon.

Thanks,
Greg
