I think you're out of luck on this one.  I've got a '74 GTV
(last year), and the filler neck on that tank is steep
enough and close enough to the top of the quarter panel
opening to make it very difficult to use pumps with newer
vapor recovery nozzles.  I don't think switching years of
GTV tanks will get you complete happiness...  
This tip won't help you in CA, but in more lenient states
(like MA) I just seek out the stations that have older
nozzles with only the shield and no bellows.
