Tires - alfa-digest V8 #1279

Jeffrey Olson said -

"Here 'ya go! An alternative to the Dunlop Sport A2 and one of the very few H-
rated tires in that size.

"On sale at SEARS advertised in today's paper. $38.99 with a 50,000 mile
warranty.

"I still think I would go with the Dunlop if the are are available at a
comparable price but the Sumitomo Srixon4 is a very good value for an H-rated
tire if you plan to use 195/70/14's."

Jay Negrin, who seems to know tires like J.H. knows Alfa history, told me some
time back that Sumitomo HTRs are exactly the same tire as some Dunlop or another.
Perhaps he could be prodded to jump in, and either confirm that or tell me that my
memory has been inventing stuff again...

The now-apparently-discontinued Sumi HTR-4 was one of my favorite tires for the
Milano - not quite as razor-sharp on dry pavement as the Michelins it came with,
but not at all butt-puckering scary in the wet either, which the Michelins
emphatically were.
