Don't know if this was mentioned already but in a 26 year old Spider neither
the speedometer nor the tachometer can be trusted to be accurate unless
you've recently had them calibrated.

Check your tach reading against a handheld tach/dwell meter and check your
speed with someone else tracking you on the highway.
