Rear axle: how much endfloat is normal?

I just replaced the wheel bearings on the 2000 axle in my Giulia Super
because the MOT tester thought they needed replacing.

There was what felt like plenty of play on both sides before I renewed them.
Now, having put the half shafts back in, put everything back together, it
feels like a similar amount of play is present.

Is it normal to feel noticeable amount of movement using the traditional
test for bearing wear (jacking up the rear, gripping top and bottom of the
tire and moving back and forth)?
