EFI conversion

Wow, for some reason, I missed the beginning of this subject...

Anyway, I don't know if anyone else saw it at the convention, but there was a GTV that had its SPICA converted to EFI, running an Electromotive. Very nice conversion, you could barely tell that there was any difference.

This person made it a mass-air system, so he attached an air flow meter upstream of the plenum, and then an air filter before that.

If you go with speed density, I would strongly recommend making a small MAP signal manifold. Use tubes just a little larger than the ones used for the idle bypass so that changes in pressure come quickly, and the manifold should be a few square inches do equalize between the 4 cylinders. If you make the pipes too small, then transients won't be recorded very well, and if you make the manifold too small, then your signal will bounce.

If we do another 4 cylinder $200x challenge car, it will be a SPICA conversion, for sure. You can do a Bosch conversion, but to me, the tube going over the top of the engine just doesn't look very nice.

Good luck, it can be a fun project!
