GTV6 valve spring mess



       I may have missed something, but if you are trying to remove the valve 
springs without removing the head, stuff the cylinder full of rope.  Turn the 
piston up against the rope and it will hold the valve head.
       I have made a fixture to pressurize a cylinder by welding an air hose 
snap couple into a spark plug base.  The air pressure may keep the valve 
shut, but the rope thing works better.
       On the lost nut, work a magnet on a handle down the hole.  With an 
aluminum block, it may pick up stray iron like your lost nut.  That will not 
work in an iron block engine.  However, the nut is probably on the cross 
member or hung up on the hoses somewhere.
